Established in 1974 P. J. Harte Decorating Contractors was built on a philosophy of providing quality without compromise - no matter what. It is this foundation that has ensured our longevity and is the primary reason our clients continue to choose Hartes, often going on to form long-term partnerships.
Although decorating lies at the heart of our business, over the years our company has grown to suit our client’s needs, vastly increasing the services we supply. This development has led us to become one of London’s most trusted principle contractors, consistently completing contracts to a high standard, on time and on budget.
P. J. Harte work on a variety of residential, office and industrial properties. Our clients include a variety of London’s renowned private landlords, local authorities, educational establishments and healthcare facilities.
Over the last three decades Harte’s has carried out redecoration and refurbishment projects on some of London’s most prestigious buildings, including Leadenhall market, Dulwich Picture Gallery and Tower Bridge, as well as various properties in Eaton square, Onslow square and Kensington Palace Gardens. Additionally we have undertaken projects on behalf of various local authorities, housing associations and public service authorities such as The London Fire Brigade and Affinity Sutton.
Having substantially invested in our workforce of over 100 directly employed operatives, you can be assured that our people are fully trained and fully qualified, achieving only the best results. Furthermore our contract management team is constantly on hand to fortify the link with our clients, providing a vital communication channel to ensure our projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Environment
P. J. Harte does, and always has, taken its environmental responsibilities very seriously. We are genuinely committed to a minimizing our environmental impact on the planet.
Hartes have become an industry leader in the employment of environmentally friendly services. We are dedicated to assisting our clients in reducing their environmental impact by, wherever possible, offering alternative products which have a lower environmental impact.
In 2007 we were awarded three silver considerate constructor awards for amongst other things, our innovative on-site recycling schemes. We now work closely with CDW Waste Management to ensure that our waste is recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
Additionally, we are committed to upgrading our fleet of commercial vehicles to low or zero emission substitutes. We have a 10 year plan to replace all our current vehicles to alternative energy vehicles such as Modecs. Brewer’s decorators merchants are currently using the Modec vehicles, and we have chosen to use them to supply the majority of the materials for our redecoration projects.

At P J Harte we strive to be an effective and efficient company with regard to health, safety and environmental standards. Furthermore, we have ensured that all our employees are motivated and committed to this cause through our ongoing training programme consisting of both external courses and internal workshops.
We make certain that tasks are undertaken undertaken in such a way as to minimise the risk to the health, safety and welfare of our employees, customers and any other persons who may be affected. Therefore regardless of whether a project falls under CDM Regulations we insist on only the highest standard of site safety and risk management.
